Engaged Learning

Through an engaged learning focus, the University of Western Sydney aims to bring knowledge to life for its students through relevant and high-quality educational programs and outcomes. In engaged learning contexts, students develop an awareness of workplace culture, and learn professional skills as well as personal skills. These programs enhance the breadth and diversity of our students’ educational experience, and prepare them for future employment.

Engaged learning contexts can be situated within:

  • University settings, for example practice based and problem oriented learning and assessment experiences;
  • Community settings, for example in student work placements, clinical practice, internships and community projects.

In many cases, engaged learning builds on learning partnerships with national and international alliances and exemplary engagement with the community and the region of Western Sydney.
